Gathering place for Dragons and creatures of the fur~

I like Pikachu better from an appearance standpoint, but, that aside, I always evolve my Pikachu after I get them to learn all their moves. Because the fact is that no matter how much you train your Pikachu, Raichu will always be stronger once the levels are maxed out. >.=.>

I love Pikachu, but Raichu is awesome as well. It's cool to see you draw Pikachu though, which you rarely do. I made a comic about another Pikachu like this, if you're interested ([link]). Great job!

Man, everyone always hates on Pikachu. It's like, almost impossible to find someone who likes both Pika AND Rai, let alone the whole line.

I like the comic, but dislike misinterpretation from the fandom of why anime!Pikachu stays as is--it's because he doesn't WANT to evolve, or doesn't have any reason to, aside from getting stronger faster. Then again, the two times this decision has seriously come up in the show--using the Thunderstone to win, instead of managing with his current power--has been portrayed as the "easy way out". Pokemon IS a kid's show, and some things are shown more black-and-white than others. I doubt there'll ever be an episode involving Pikachu versus Raichu without this theme of "we don't have to evolve to win" casting a bad light on the rival Raichu.

...Okay, it's because he's Pokemon's mascot, and it wouldn't do to have him change, because all the merchandise would have to reflect that.
