The Slightly Damned Plushification Project on Kickstarter (www.kickstarter.com/projects/1…) was a runaway success! Wow! Thanks to everyone's generosity, no fewer than 6 Slightly Damned plushies have been completely funded. I can't wait to get my mitts on all those Buwaro, Rhea, Kieri, Sakido, Iratu, and Crunky dolls! It will take a few more months for all of them to be completed, of course, but you can expect to see them all on sale by early 2014.

Voting continues through until THIS WEDNESDAY (the 15th). I'm warning you now that on Wednesday the Slightly Damned website will update with the Ursa Major comic I already uploaded here.

Even though I'm done with the second Slightly Damned book, I'm too busy for twice-a-week updates. The Kickstarter is an ongoing project, since I need to oversee the plushie designs, prepare the bonus rewards and shipping materials, and make sure all the money gets used wisely. I also have to prepare for Phoenix Comic Con. I'm leaving for comics school in September. And partially because of the convention, our house will be full of partying guests until the end of the month!
...Okay, so maybe that last one doesn't sound very responsible, but let's say it's necessary for my mental health.
I think I'm going to have to officially give up on updating Slightly Damned with a full page twice a week. It's just too much work for me to handle right now, what with the Kickstarter to take care of, a huge convention at the end of this month, and school looming in the distance. When I'm at school, I expect I'll be too busy to update all my ongoing projects (Slightly Damned, Soprano of Time, and my art challeng on Tumblr: chunochousen.tumblr.com/) consistently every week. I need to take some some this summer to make a buffer so I can keep up with everything while I'm off at school, so I'm going to cut Slightly Damned back to its originally Saturdays-only update schedule-- effective immediately.
However! You guys will still have stuff to look at on Wednesdays. Thanks to the success of the Kickstarter, I'll be sure to post some sort of Slightly Damned-related art every Wednesday from July through December 2013. Stuff like that is much easier to provide than full pages, anyway. And like I've mentioned before: I will be drawing a LOT at school, so it's not like I'm going to stop making content or anything. It just can't all be Slightly Damned pages, Soprano of Time strips, or Pokemon paintings.

I'm going to Phoenix Comic Con!
www.phoenixcomicon.com/
I'll be there for all four days with my friends from Monster Hive (www.monsterhive.net/) at our tables in the Artist's Alley. Most of the most frequent contributors to the Hivecast will be there, such as Arby (creator of Grayling: graylingcomic.net/), Rurik, Pyro, and Acri. I'll also be selling charms, stickers, signed books, commissions, possibly signed prints, and buttons (both Slightly Damned-related and fanart-related, like Pokemon and MLP). Hope to see you there!

Did you know that I've started hosting a podcast with my friends at MONSTER HIVE (www.monsterhive.net/)? It's called Hivecast, and there's a new episode out every other week. We talk about all sorts of storytelling themes, gripes, cliches, and we kind of get drunk and cuss a lot. It's a grand old time! You can listen to the show right on the MONSTER HIVE website (www.monsterhive.net/category/h…) or catch it on iTunes (itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/mo…) if that's what you prefer.

Happy 20th Anniversary, Slightly Damned!
On March 14, 2004, I posted the very first page of Slightly Damned online on my personal website. I built the site myself from notepad and updated it manually for years. Every page of the comic was a separate .html file, and it as inefficient as heck! I remember getting emails from folks telling me their internet speeds couldn't handle the high quality JPEGs I initially put up. Those could exceed 500kb EACH! So I decided to replace them with lower quality ones that were under 200kb for a while... Wait, where was I? Oh, excuse this old fart for reminiscing. With the current state of the modern internet, I can't help but feel wistful for the world wide web as it was when I first started Slightly Damned. Slightly Damned is 20 years old now! I never imagined I would keep up with it for this long. When I first started, I was just an ambitious teenager with no real thoughts about the future. I didn't even think about collecting the comic into books. I assumed no one would want

Hey all, Chu here! In February I'll be working on preparing for the Slightly Damned Book Three Kickstarter! If you drop by my art streams on Twitch during February, then you'll be able to see me work on updating the Book Three cover and redrawing certain pages. Time permitting, I also plan to make the long overdue chapter covers for Book Five: Part Nine and Part Ten. --- The Ursa Major Award nominations are open until February 11! https://ursamajorawards.org/nominations.htm It would mean a lot to me if you could write in to nominate Slightly Damned for "Best Graphic Story"! Getting nominated-- and ideally, winning-- helps attract new eyes to the comic, which is essential for its ongoing success. But don't forget that you can nominate up to 5 creations per category, so please be generous and vote for other works that you enjoy as well! The Ursa Major Awards also have a Fursuit category, and 2022 just happens to be year where I got my very first fursuit! You may have seen it in

2020's Almost Over!
Hey folks! Just wanted to write a new journal to let you all know how I'm doing these days, what's coming next, and update information on where to find me. The Slightly Damned Kickstarter to print a new and improved version of Book 2 was a smashing success! I just finished drawing nearly all the bonus material for it, and before you know it, it'll be off to the printers. 2020 was a pretty tough year, as I'm sure all of you know. It got even tougher when a friend of mine suddenly passed away in fall. A week later, one of our cats became ill and we had to put him down. I still did my best to hold things together, work on the Kickstarter campaign and work on the book while also keeping up with my normal obligations. And, well, now I'm really tired and I need a break!! Slightly Damned is fast approaching its 1000th page. Quite a milestone. I have decided that once we reach it, I am going on a short sabbatical. There will be no new pages from the 1000th page's debut on January 2 until

Where can one find your SD books? I'm asking because I don't get out much. (My only website accounts other than the att.net subscription are MOCpages, Deviantart, and Faniction.net.)
